Our 2021 Harvest Festival

As we begin to bid summer farewell and prepare for autumn, our attentions will soon turn to the Harvest Festival. This time of year is when The People’s Kitchen warehouse is replenished to sustain the charity through the winter months.

The Harvest Festival is a celebration of the year’s harvest, traditionally a feast shared among family and friends. However, in recent times it has become about sharing with those less fortunate than ourselves.

Each year The People’s Kitchen reaches out to schools, churches, community organisations and our supporters in the business world. The last year has seen us use up nearly all of our stock during lockdown by supporting our friends with thousands of food parcels and our takeaway service seven days a week. Without the donations received at harvest-time, the Kitchen will struggle to continue feeding the most vulnerable in our society.

It would also be of considerable help if donations could be delivered to the Kitchen warehouse at Unit 6, Invincible Drive, Armstrong Industrial Park, Scotswood Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 7HX. There is almost always someone to assist with unloading from 10.30am until 3:00pm on Wednesday and Friday each week.
