Friendship. Food. Futures.
The People’s Kitchen is a safe haven for our Friends; the vulnerable people of Newcastle.
WE CARE ABOUT OUR FRIENDS IN NEED
We support homeless and vulnerable people and help fight hunger and loneliness for locals in need. They might be at risk of homelessness, unemployed, lonely or living in poverty. For people who experience these difficulties, we are a light in the dark.
We’ve been helping our Friends since 1985, thanks to the North East’s kindness and generosity. The People’s Kitchen is run entirely by volunteers and receives no government funding. Our caring supporters are who makes it possible for us to continue offering food and friendship to the most vulnerable in our community. This incredible team includes:
- Charities & trusts
- Community & religious groups
Harvest Festival Donations
We are beyond grateful for all the support we receive during our Harvest Festival.
See our volunteer wordle
We recently conducted an internal survey in which we asked our many volunteers how they felt about a range of topics.
Hosting the vaccine bus
We are delighted to have welcomed the vaccine bus to The People's Kitchen.
Our stunning new wall mural
