Friendship. Food. Futures.
The People’s Kitchen is a safe haven for our Friends; the vulnerable people of Newcastle.
WE CARE ABOUT OUR FRIENDS IN NEED
We support homeless and vulnerable people and help fight hunger and loneliness for locals in need. They might be at risk of homelessness, unemployed, lonely or living in poverty. For people who experience these difficulties, we are a light in the dark.
We’ve been helping our Friends since 1985, thanks to the North East’s kindness and generosity. The People’s Kitchen is run entirely by volunteers and receives no government funding. Our caring supporters are who makes it possible for us to continue offering food and friendship to the most vulnerable in our community. This incredible team includes:
- Charities & trusts
- Community & religious groups
Our 2021 Advent Calendar Event
Each day, we're working with one of our sponsors to provide a small gift for our Friends to take with them after they have had their meal.
Our 2021 Christmas Party
It was our great pleasure to host our annual Christmas party at the Alison Centre earlier this month.
Feed a Friend For a Fiver
For just £5, you could help one of our Friends enjoy a lovely meal this Christmas.
We are delighted to announce that following a successful trial period, we are finally able to open our doors and invite our Friends inside.
