Our stunning new wall mural

If you arrive at the People’s Kitchen these days, you may notice something different about our once-ordinary car park. Earlier this year a unique piece of art was commissioned to bring our outdoor area to life.

North Shields artist, Mark Shields, kindly worked his magic by painting a stunning mural on our wall to raise awareness about the kitchen and tell our story to the outside world.

Discussing the project, Mark said: “This was a great project to work on and after a lot of research into the life of The Kitchen over the years, I created something which illustrates the transition from being out in the cold through to warmth that the Friends say they feel from the love and support they receive from by all of the amazing volunteers and their unlimited compassion for those in need.”
